Virtual Consultations

Guidance for complex pain and sleep-related concerns.

Virtual orofacial pain consultations are being developed as a future option for patients seeking focused guidance, records review, care navigation, and discussion of appropriate next steps.

Current Status

Consultation workflow coming soon.

Scheduling, consent, payment, and secure intake workflows are still being finalized. This page outlines the intended structure of future virtual consultations.

When launched, virtual consultations are expected to begin with patients physically located in states where Dr. Cheung is actively licensed at the time of the visit.

30 minutes

Initial Virtual Consultation

A focused consultation for patients seeking guidance regarding orofacial pain, TMJ disorders, jaw pain, facial pain, bruxism, oral appliance concerns, or sleep-related breathing concerns.

15 minutes

Follow-Up Virtual Visit

A shorter follow-up visit for established consultation patients to review progress, clarify recommendations, discuss care coordination, or determine next steps.

15-minute increments

Additional Time

If additional time is needed and available, visits may be extended in 15-minute increments with patient consent. Any additional fee will be disclosed before the visit is extended.

Appropriate Concerns

Designed for guidance, clarification, and next-step planning.

Virtual consultations may be appropriate for patients who need help understanding symptoms, reviewing prior records, clarifying possible contributing factors, or deciding what type of care may be needed next.

TMJ disorders and jaw pain
Facial pain and headache-related orofacial pain
Bruxism, clenching, and oral parafunction
Oral appliance comfort or function concerns
Sleep-related breathing concerns involving oral appliance therapy
Records review or care-navigation questions
Complex cases requiring guidance on next steps

Payment Structure

Clear pricing before care begins.

Virtual consultations are expected to launch as a cash-pay service first. Fees will be disclosed before scheduling. If additional time is needed, any extended visit time will require patient consent before an additional charge is added.

HSA/FSA cards may be accepted for eligible clinical consultation services when available. Eligibility depends on the patient’s plan and tax situation.

Medical insurance billing may be considered later after the appropriate credentialing, billing, documentation, and payer workflows are established.

Important Limits

Virtual care has boundaries.

Virtual consultations are not for emergencies.
Some concerns require an in-person examination, imaging, dental evaluation, or medical referral.
Virtual consultations do not replace emergency care, urgent dental care, or a complete in-person examination when one is clinically necessary.
Availability depends on the patient’s physical location at the time of the visit and Dr. Cheung’s active state licensure.

Next Step

Secure consultation access is being developed.

Online scheduling, secure intake, consent, and payment workflows will be added after the appropriate clinical, privacy, and operational infrastructure is finalized.
